Greer football coach receives kidney transplant with wife as donor

As Michelle Young enters her 19th season as head coach of Furman University volleyball, she’ll have a whole new perspective on organ donation. That’s because she turned out to be a perfect donor match for her husband of 20 years Will Young, who prior to a kidney transplant, was suffering from advanced polycystic kidney disease. Bob Castello covered the story about Michelle and Will Young, who embarks on his 14th season as head coach of the Greer High School football team. Said Michelle, “I feel like that’s why we have two [kidneys]. If you need to, you can give one to somebody else.” Read the full story in The Greenvillle News.
