The Furman Percussion Ensemble will present a concert Monday, Nov. 19 at 8 p.m. in Daniel Recital Hall on campus.

The concert is open to the public. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for students.

Led by Furman faculty members Omar Carmenates and John Beckford, the Furman Percussion Ensemble will perform a wide range of music from around the world.

The concert opens with a musical celebration marking the 100th birthday of renowned composer and artist John Cage. Following the tribute, the Furman Percussion Ensemble will perform an arrangement of “Octet” by Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Steve Reich.

To close the concert, the Furman Percussion Ensemble welcomes special guests Andrew and Julie Moore (of Greenville), and Guinean master drummer Bolokada Conde in an en masse performance of traditional drumming and dance styles of West Africa.
