Belle Voci, under the direction of Vivian Hamilton, and the Hartness and Gladden String Quartets, under the direction of Anna Joiner, perform in concert in Daniel Memorial Chapel Monday, April 3, at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free, and the concert is open to the public. The event is part of Furman’s Cultural Life Program.
Belle Voci – Beautiful Voices – is a treble choral ensemble of the Furman music department that seeks to share music not only expressing the art of beautiful singing, but hoping that the language of music can be a connection in finding our common humanity – in creating a supportive and nurturing community of artists and scholars.
The flagship ensembles of Furman’s chamber music program are the Hartness and Gladden String Quartets, founded with support by the Hartness and Gladden families. The members of these ensembles are selected in the Fall and perform together for a full year, receiving a scholarship for their work.
