Chan Named Dean of International Admissions

Furman University has announced the appointment of Candice Chan as Dean of International Admissions.

Chan brings to Furman extensive experience in the field of international student enrollment as the university seeks to expand its global recruitment efforts. Her duties at Furman began in August.

Working closely with Furman University Academic Affairs and Furman University Student Life, Chan will develop and manage Furman’s international recruitment and admissions program and cultivate partnerships with embassies, agencies and institutions around the world.

Before joining Furman, Chan served as Director of International Admissions at Widener University in Chester, Penn., and held various positions in enrollment management and international admissions at The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., and Lynn University in Boca Raton, Fla.

She is a frequent speaker at NAFSA: Association of International Educators conferences and is a member of the NAFSA Trainer Corps, a group of volunteers dedicated to developing, delivering and maintaining the NAFSA Core Education Program curriculum and materials. (NAFSA was formerly known as National Association for Foreign Student Affairs.)

Chan, who is from Hong Kong and fluent in Chinese, received her bachelor’s degree from Widener University and an MBA from Lynn University.
