A raft of seismic activity in southern Iceland, a clue to impending volcanic eruptions, has drawn public concern and attention from the media. WYFF News 4 Meteorologist Griffin Hardy turned to Furman University’s Emma Hunt, an assistant professor of Earth sciences, to help explain the phenomenon. Hunt took 18 students to Iceland for a three-week May Experience expedition. Two of the students, Connor Gregory ’24 and Reagan Ogburn ’24, appeared on camera to offer their impressions of “the land of fire and ice.”
