Furman University senior Sam Lape punched his ticket to the NCAA Championship after his stellar performance at the NCAA Salem Regional Tournament in Salem, South Carolina. His second-place finish marks the highest regional finish in Furman Men’s Golf history. Lape will be the first Paladin to compete at the NCAA Championship since Kirk Satterfield finished fifth at the 2001 NCAA East Regional to advance to the finals. Several news outlets covered the story including WHNS Fox Carolina, the FOX Carolina website, WSPA 7 News – CBS and WYFF News 4 – NBC. Lape will compete in the tournament May 26-31 in Scottsdale, Arizona.
