Ahead of the coronation of King Charles III, Carolyn Day, British expert and associate professor of history at Furman University, stopped by the FOX Carolina News station to offer context for the event. From the Crown jewels to royal family drama, Day provided details any royal family watcher might find fascinating.

Returning from four months in London, Day led “Furman in London, England: London Internship Program.” She teaches courses in British and European history as well as the history of medicine. Her current research focuses on the individual experience of illness in 18th and 19th century Britain. Author of “Consumptive Chic: A History of Beauty, Fashion and Disease” (Bloomsbury, 2017), Day holds two bachelor’s degrees from Louisiana State University and advanced degrees from Cambridge University and Tulane University.
