Furman Men’s Basketball used its historic NCAA Tournament success to show appreciation for the community of Greenville, South Carolina. The team spent time with kids at the West Greenville Community Center during an after-school program where players and coaches enjoyed drills with the children. The team presented an autographed basketball to Mayor Knox White and members of City Council, and kids went home with purple and white basketballs gifted by the team.

Head Coach Bob Richey said the gesture was part of the team’s greater purpose. “We want to be a part of Greenville,” he said. “We don’t want to always be asking Greenville to come to us – we want to go to Greenville. For us to have this opportunity today is part of why we do what we do.” See coverage on WHNS FOX Carolina, WYFF News 4 and WSPA News 7.
