Kamber Parker, a 2017 Furman University alumna and founder of The YoPro Know LLC, invites Furman President Elizabeth Davis to her show, “The Great Retention,” to discuss how higher ed is preparing students for their careers and what trends she is seeing in a generation coming of age in the workforce. Davis pointed to the Pathways program and the impetus behind it. “This is the most diverse generation ever. As a result, then, students come in with different lived experiences. So, we can’t keep doing things the same old way,” she explained.

The 25-minute interview revealed some little-known facts about the Furman president, a self-described accounting nerd who had occasion to play trombone with trumpeter Wynton Marsalis. The conversation was posted on Apple Podcasts, Spotify and on YouTube.

Parker is a communication studies and political science (now known as politics and international affairs) alumna. She founded The YoPro Know LLC in 2018.
