Paladin Pitch, Furman Engaged help kick off Clearly Furman campaign

Furman University is hosting series of events on campus April 13-15 leading to the launch of the most ambitious comprehensive campaign in university history: Clearly Furman, the Campaign for our Third Century.

The events begin Thursday and run through Saturday night. Registration is closed but walk-ups are welcome and encouraged. Stop by the welcome tent at McAlister Auditorium to check in. More information can be found here.

Thursday, 4-5:30 p.m.: The Paladin Pitch competition, McAlister Auditorium. The competition includes live pitches by student entrepreneurs. The winner will walk away with the Johnny Flynn Paladin Pitch Award worth $10,000 in grants and support resources, and the audience gets to vote for a crowd favorite. Friday, 9 a.m.-5:30 p.m.: The 15th annual Furman Engaged, at various locations on campus. Classes are suspended for the day to give everyone the chance to participate. Highlights include the Furman International Student Association Food Festival in the Dining Hall from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and the research poster sessions and internship gallery walk in Timmons Arena from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. The event will end with a champagne toast and charcuterie. Saturday, 9:45 a.m.-4:30 p.m.: Furman Showcase, at various locations on campus. This is the faculty and staff’s turn to show off their work. There will be 78 sessions, with more than 160 presenters. The program is here. The day includes lunch on Milford Mall.

Saturday, 5-8 p.m.: Faculty, staff, alumni and friends are invited to the Purple Party on the Roberts Rugby Pitch. The event includes food and beverage stations, a tasting event and a program officially launching the Clearly Furman campaign.

Saturday, 8-11 p.m.: The FUSAB Spring Concert in the Amphitheater features musical artist Dayglow. The concert is open to the public. Find more information here.
