‘FU All The Time’: Why you should root for this March Madness underdog

Ethan Kassel of The San Francisco Standard can’t help but love the Furman University Paladins who have won a bid to the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament. He lays out a number of reasons why he’s fond of the team in a recent article in which he recounts the university’s early history and Furman’s move to reckon with ties to slavery. Kassel also mentions the leadership of fifth-year seniors Mike Bothwell and Jalen Slawson. But his favorite reason to love the Dins might be the edgy, yet appropriate chant, “FU All The Time!”
