Furman University alumnus Brandon Tensley ’12, a German studies and political science graduate, will join the stable of reporters at Capital B, a local-national nonprofit news organization that “centers Black voices, audience needs and experiences, and partners with the communities it serves,” according to its website. Its national team produces in-depth journalism on topics of critical importance to Black people across the country, such as education, housing, health, the environment, criminal justice, and politics.

Formerly a CNN Politics reporter, Tensley will cover the impact of policy and political movements on Black people in America, and the Black political influencers who are shaping the future.

A Fulbright Scholar and a Henry Luce Scholar, Tensley holds a master’s in politics from the University of Oxford.
