As part of Greenville Journal’s Black History Month coverage, Vincent Harris of the Journal speaks to Furman University alumnus Jamarcus Gaston ’07 (music and communication studies). Making a name for himself as the Upstate’s storyteller, Gaston is host of WSPA 7News’ “Your Carolina,” which airs 9-10 a.m. Monday through Friday. “Every day that I get to sit at a desk at a television station on a live daily TV show where my voice is heard and I get to share my opinions, that’s something that never gets old,” he told Harris. “There’s a quote that says, ‘I am my ancestors’ wildest dream,’ and I really think they would find that to be true,” Gaston added.
