To honor the heroism of 9/11 first responders and to remember the lives lost, a group of Furman University students lined campus roads and pathways with nearly 3,000 American Flags. Accounting major Genevieve Mahoney ’24 of Furman Conservative Society spoke to FOX Carolina about the tribute. “The theme of this event is ‘actions speak louder than words,’ and that’s exactly what happened on 9/11,” she said. “First responders ran into those buildings knowing they were probably not going to make it out … and those are the actions … we will never forget.”
