On news of President Joe Biden’s plan to forgive student loans for qualifying borrowers, WYFF News 4′s Peyton Furtado spoke to Furman University’s Jason Abreu, associate vice president of enrollment services and university registrar, and Jason Jones, economics professor and department chair. Abreu commented on students’ ability to build wealth as a result of the move, while Jones pointed to how the policy might affect prices for goods and the cost of higher education in the long run.
