Upstate university committed to entrepreneurship

Anthony Herrera, Furman University chief innovation officer and executive director of The Hill Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, was a recent guest on “South Carolina Business Review.” Hosted by Mike Switzer, the South Carolina Public Radio show gave Herrera a stage to explain the mission of the institute, offer real-world examples of the institute’s impact on Upstate ventures, and highlight next steps for The Hill Institute, namely, the Crescent Startup Community. A partnership among Hartness Development, Flywheel, Furman, South Carolina Research Authority, VentureSouth and others, the large-scale mixed-use innovation district will be the Upstate’s first.
