President Biden announces five new nominees to serve as U.S. Attorneys

Adair Ford Boroughs, a 2002 Furman University alumna, has been named a nominee for United States Attorney for the District of South Carolina. News of the nomination was announced by The White House. The announcement also appeared in The State, The Post and Courier, on Live 5 WCSC, US Express News, and News 19 WLTX. Her nomination will go before the Senate Judiciary Committee Thursday, July 14, according to a report in The State.

A mathematics major who received her J.D. from Stanford Law School in 2007, Boroughs is a founding partner of Boroughs Bryant, LLC where she has practiced since 2021. From 2017 to 2019, she was the executive director of Charleston Legal Access. She served as a law clerk for Judge Richard M. Gergel on the U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina from 2013 to 2017. Previously, Boroughs was a trial attorney in the tax division of the United States Department of Justice from 2007 to 2013.
