Furman student, cancer survivor, running across country to raise money for cancer research
Furman student Sydney Beason ’22 is going the extra mile for cancer research. This summer, she will set out on a cross-country run, from Baltimore to San Francisco, hoping to make an impact every step of the way for young adults battling cancer.
Beason, a public health major, was diagnosed with cancer at 17, two years after her mother’s own battle with cancer. She will run with 10 teammates, each logging about 16 miles a day, to raise money for the Ulman Foundation. Fox Carolina has her story here, and WSPA News 7’s “Your Carolina” covered it here.
