The Greenville Center for Creative Arts will host an exhibition commemorating contemporary and historical women from the area. “City of Women,” a show inspired by an article in The New Yorker, will be on display at GCCA in March 2022. For the exhibition, Furman University researchers helped compile a list of influential women from the region.

The news was covered in The Post and Courier and Greenville Journal. In the latter, Furman President Elizabeth Davis said, “There is great power in sharing the untold and forgotten stories of the women who helped to build Greenville. It deepens our collective understanding of history, brings to light many unknown contributions, and builds a more inclusive future for all.”
