Furman University is monitoring the forecast for Tropical Depression Ida and will provide updates on this site as needed about how the storm may impact our area.

According to the latest information from the National Weather Service, the Greenville area is expected to experience wind and rain from the weakening storm as it passes north and west of South Carolina, beginning Tuesday evening through Wednesday. The storm could bring 1 to 2 inches of rain and wind gusts up to 25 mph tonight and early tomorrow.

Faculty and staff should use caution when traveling and avoid possible flooded areas. Students and employees should be aware of their surroundings while walking on campus during strong winds and rain.

The university will continue to monitor conditions and provide updates as necessary. Students, faculty and staff will also receive text and email alerts in emergency situations.
