9 ways to cure (and prevent) shin splints

Former Furman health sciences professor Bill Pierce has words of advice when it comes to annoying and painful shin splints. The veteran running coach and co-author of “Run Less, Run Faster” is an advocate for supplementing running with other sorts of training. “Do cross-training instead of running every day with a 3+2 program,” he said. “Three runs and two cross-training sessions gives you five cardiovascular workouts a week.” Get more tips in Men’s Journal.
