New Dins in town for Summer Orientation

Incoming first-year students are getting familiar with their new school. More than 500 members of the class of 2025 divided into seven groups, each of which came to campus for one day to participate in activities coordinated by 19 student orientation leaders and six staff members. After splitting into small groups (their “first Furman family”), the students met with faculty and advisers to begin planning their educational paths, took campus tours, enjoyed a Dining Hall meal and explored a Campus Connections Fair. Toward the end of the day, they gathered on the Mall for a PalaPicnic full of icebreaker activities to help them get to know each other and look forward to meeting again in the fall.
