Furman scores No. 5 position in CPA exam pass rates for midsize programs

In a rating method that looks at how well students progress toward completing all four parts of the Certified Public Accountant exam, Furman University comes in at No. 5 among mid-sized university accounting programs across the nation, and No. 15 overall.
Accounting professors at Baylor University and University of Northern Iowa devised the “CPA Success Index” in 2020 to get a better picture of accounting acumen among aspiring CPA professionals. The National Association of State Boards of Accountancy, on the other hand, publishes CPA exam pass rates for varied sizes of schools, but it only measures single-section pass rates.
The professors behind the CPA Success Index results, which were published in Accounting Today, include Furman First Gentleman Charles Davis, who also serves as a professor in the Department of Accounting and Business Law at Baylor University, and University of Northern Iowa professors Tim Lindquist and Joseph Ugrin.
