Shaniece Criss, an assistant professor of health sciences at Furman University, a Prisma Health board member and a Travelers Rest city councilwoman, was quoted in an article appearing in The Greenville News about COVID-19 and how the disease breaks along racial and socioeconomic lines. “When you look at the pandemic, it is really just highlighting the health disparities that were in our population beforehand,” she said. “Everybody regardless of race or ethnicity, has to be willing to do their part to keep everyone safe,” Criss added.
