Georgia, North Carolina ‘epicenter of political moment’

As ballots continue to be counted in several states post election, Renee Wunderlich of WYFF News 4 caught up with Furman’s Brent Nelsen, a professor in the Department of Politics and International Affairs at the university. He says a recurring theme from the 2016 election is unsettling to him. “We are still deeply divided,” he told Wunderlich. “We see the world differently through those partisan lenses, and that’s what worries me – when you determine what the facts are going to be based on your political loyalty, rather than figuring out what the facts are, and then figuring out what direction to take.”
