Furman University will be closed until noon on Thursday, October 29, due to expected high winds from Hurricane Zeta as it passes over our area as a tropical storm Thursday morning. All FurmanFlex classes will be held remotely for the entire day, including those that start after noon.

Staff who are working on campus should not report to work until noon, unless otherwise directed by supervisors. Staff who are working remotely should continue to do so. (See policy 858.1 for more information.)

With the exception of the Dining Hall, all buildings will be closed until noon. The Dining Hall will remain open to students during normal operating times.

Students and employees should use caution while traveling to campus or walking outside. Be aware of your surroundings, including the possibility of falling trees and limbs, localized flooding and downed electrical lines.

Check the National Weather Service for the latest forecast and weather information.

Students, faculty and staff will receive text and email alerts in emergency situations. For up-to-date weather alerts and other emergency notifications, follow Furman on Twitter and Facebook or call the Furman weather line at 864-294-3766.
