It’s part of  a bigger story about a discovery made by chemistry graduate Trent Stubbs ’20, but Stubbs and Furman Professor of Chemistry Greg Springsteen make an appearance in a new Stated Clearly video on YouTube. In the 10-minute video by Jon Perry, cartoon likenesses of Stubbs and Springsteen, along with an explanation of their research, are featured in “What is the Metabolism-First Hypothesis for the Origin of Life?” The video is part of a series on the origin and chemistry of life funded by NASA’s Center for Chemical Evolution, the National Science Foundation and individual donors.
