Allison McCann Foy ’05, executive director of alumni and parent engagement at Furman University, admits that preparing for the first-ever COVID-19 imposed homecoming has been “different,” but the meaning of the tradition hasn’t changed at all. In a Greenville Journal article, Foy, a music and communication studies alumna, said, “Homecoming is about nostalgia, and connection both to our alma mater and also to other people that we experienced college with.” Furman will celebrate its virtual #FurmanAtHome Homecoming Oct. 19-30 with giving opportunities and a slate of online activities.
