Furman University President Elizabeth Davis appeared on “Carolina Business Review” in a virtual panel discussion about the financial impact of COVID-19 on higher education in “The Assault on College Financing.” She joined leaders from Elon University and Elizabeth City State University, both in North Carolina. Hosted by Chris William, the program also included policymakers from the South Carolina Commission on Higher Education in Columbia, and the James G. Martin Center for Academic Renewal based in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Davis commented on the tremendous investment associated with retooling classrooms for in-person and remote learning. She also mentioned other avenues for learning, credentials and income available through the institutes established at Furman: Institute for the Advancement of Community Health, Riley Institute and its Diversity Leaders Initiative, Shi Center for Sustainability, and Furman Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
