Two worlds intertwine, opera singer and pharmacy tech

Jennifer Wiggins, a 2014 Furman University voice graduate, said she had her “arias ready to go” when COVID-19 lockdowns began.  The two-season chorus member of Opera Carolina was set to audition for a year-long program before the pandemic shuttered opera houses everywhere. Now, she is focused on her other job as a pharmacy tech at grocery store chain Harris Teeter outside of Charlotte, North Carolina. The long hours filling prescriptions haven’t squelched the mezzo-soprano’s motivation to improve her voice, or her desire to serve kids in her community.
