The Furman University community came together June 16 for the sixth annual Dins Day, a 24-hour celebration of Paladin pride and philanthropy.

This year, alumni, students, parents and friends of the university contributed 2,227 gifts totaling $1,454,652. Including this year’s Dins Day, all six Dins Day events together raised more than $8.8 million in support of Furman students, programs and initiatives, ensuring the continued success of The Furman Advantage.

“The strength and resilience of the Furman family was more apparent than ever this Dins Day,” said Gloria Goosby, director of annual giving. “Gifts will be used to support the many facets that make the Furman experience unique, while also allowing the university to be better positioned for the future.”

In light of the coronavirus social distancing recommendations, Dins Day 2020 included virtual activities such as a workout, baking class featuring First Gentleman Charles Davis, live concerts and trivia from pillars of the Furman community. Alumni, students, parents and friends of Furman celebrated by wearing purple and posting photos on social media, using the hashtag #DinsDay.
