Today is Dins Day 2020!
The Furman community is showing its colors today for the university’s sixth annual Dins Day, a 24-hour celebration of Paladin pride and philanthropy.
Started in 2015, Dins Day encourages Furman students, alumni, parents and friends to show their support by wearing purple, giving to the university and gathering with Furman students, alumni, parents and friends.
This year’s Dins Day looks very different for the Furman community after a delay due to COVID-19 and the cancellation of all in-person events. Like many gatherings of family and friends during this time, Dins Day has moved to virtual events and activities.
In addition to trivia questions being posted all day, Furman family and friends are invited to get sweaty during a virtual morning workout with Andre Bernardi from 7:30 a.m. to 7:50 a.m., participate in a baking class featuring First Gentleman Charles Davis from 11:45 a.m. to 12:15 a.m., and enjoy live concerts with Stacy Capers from 4:15 p.m. to 4:45 p.m., Ian McConnell from 7:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Trey Duncan from 9:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
“We are excited to see our Furman family come together to make a difference for Furman this year,” said Gloria Goosby, director of annual giving. “Whether donors give to support student experiences, scholarships, academics, athletics or the various institutes and outreach centers that make our community unique, they have the power to make an impact on both the present and future of Furman University.”
