More consistency needed to show flattening of curve
Public health expert Shaniece Criss was interviewed by Joe Ripley of WYFF News 4 following Gov. McMaster’s announcement of a plan to open beaches and ease restrictions on some Palmetto State retail businesses. She commented on flattening the curve of new cases and deaths caused by COVID-19. Criss, a Furman University health sciences professor, said, “We’ll be able to tell when we reach the peak when we see the numbers go down for one, two weeks consistently. Those numbers could go right back up depending on social distancing measures.”
