Democratic candidates: Spare us the hypocrisy on criminal justice
The last two Democratic debates were exercises in hypocrisy, Teresa Cosby, associate professor of politics and international affairs, wrote in an op-ed in the Charleston Post and Courier. Tom, Pete, Amy, Joe and most of all Bernie had no right to point fingers at Michael Bloomberg and his “stop-and-frisk” policies during his 16 years as mayor of New York, she wrote. Only one candidate had a clean record.
