When former Furman University assistant head football coach Tim Sorrells retired in 2017, he turned his attention to a group whose mission is to feed the chronically hungry in South Carolina. South Carolina Hunters for the Hungry is responsible for putting roughly 280,000 meals per year on tables throughout the region through donations of processed venison to food pantries. But that number could grow substantially with more funds and volunteers. Greenville Journal spoke to Sorrells about the effort and how the Furman community and others are rallying around the cause. Sorrells was also interviewed by WSPA 7News.
