Furman’s Office of Spiritual Life presents its annual Love Feast, Sunday, Dec. 8, at 5 p.m. in Daniel Memorial Chapel.

Based on shared feast traditions that date to the early church, the Love Feast celebrates the Christian season of Advent, the time of anticipating the Christ child. Amid the glow of beeswax candles, congregants will be served sweetened buns and coffee in the Moravian tradition, one of the oldest Protestant denominations in the world.

Attendees will participate and share in a cultural touchstone of the Christian tradition, both liturgically and musically during the Love Feast. Curated songs and hymns typically describe love and harmony. Advent and Christmas music will be provided by the Chancel Musicians, an instrumental and vocal ensemble of Furman students, led by Abbie Schlichtmann ’20 and organist Jamisen Collier ’20.
