From adversity to a brighter tomorrow
Four Bridges to a Brighter Future students are featured in a Greenville Journal cover story by Neil Cotiaux. The Bridges program, led by Furman University’s Carrie Silver, gives high school students the tools they need to overcome barriers, graduate high school and enroll in college. Nearly 500 students have participated in the program since it launched in 1997. Said Silver, “So when our partners … nominate ninth-graders, we find these young people who have a desire to create a life that maybe wouldn’t be possible for them without a little bit of extra support.”
