Meet Georgia’s 2020 Teacher of the Year

Tracey Nance Pendley, a 2006 Furman University sociology and religion graduate, has been named Georgia’s 2020 Teacher of the Year. Pendley, who completed a master’s in teaching through the University of Chicago’s Urban Teacher Education Program, has served in Atlanta Public Schools since 2012 as a fourth-grade teacher at Burgess Peterson Academy. Before that, she taught in the Chicago Public Schools.
