Protecting LGBTQ students in SC

South Carolina lawmakers have discussed the need for such education reforms as additional expenditures and an increase in the starting pay for teachers. In an op-ed for The Greenville News, Furman Education Professor Scott Henderson writes that “these reforms, though much needed, will do nothing to address the well-being of some of our most vulnerable students: those who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or queer (LGBTQ).”
