Furman’s farm manager shares gardening tips

While most visitors to Furman are awed by the abundant flowers and trees in bloom on campus, there’s even more growing behind the Shi Center for Sustainability. In addition to indigenous flowers, shrubs and trees in the landscape is the Furman Farm, home to 30-40 crops throughout the year including corn, kale, chard, peppers, spinach, tomatoes, onions and more. Ariel Gilreath of Greenville Journal spoke to Farm Director Bruce Adams who has lots of tips for the home gardener.
