Lillian’s from Southernside

Lillian Brock Flemming ’71 was one of the first three African-American women to attend Furman University, and the first to serve on Greenville’s City Council. At age 69, the educator is entering her fourth decade as an elected public official. She is featured in an article appearing in the Greenville Journal. In it, she reflects on her public life, servant leadership and plans for her “Southernside” roots.
