Furman homecomings have a colorful history

Beginning in 1919 on its downtown Greenville campus and continuing until moving to its present location in the 1960s, Furman celebrated Homecoming with football games against the likes of Clemson and South Carolina, and with elaborate parades that attracted more than 12,000 people standing four-deep on Main Street. Retired Furman English Professor Judy Bainbridge remembers those Homecoming moments in an article for The Greenville News.
