Jim Guth, the William R. Kenan, Jr. Professor of Politics and International Affairs at Furman University, will look at what happened in the midterm election when he speaks at the High Noon lecture series Wednesday, Nov. 7.

His presentation, “Back to Normal? Analyzing the Results of the Midterm Election,” will begin at noon at the Upcountry History Museum-Furman University. It is free and open to the public.

Guth’s talk is the final lecture of the fall series.

While American midterm elections usually follow predictable patterns, nothing seems predictable in the Trump era. Guth will look at whether Congressional contests followed historical trends and what policy changes might follow in the aftermath of the midterms.

All lectures begin at noon and last one hour.  The Upcountry History Museum/Furman is located at 540 Buncombe Street in downtown Greenville’s Heritage Green area. The complete fall schedule is available here.
