Remembering a decisive battle

September 26 marked the centennial commemoration of World War I’s Meuse-Argonne offensive, which was launched in northern France and involved more than a million American soldiers. NPR correspondent and Furman alum Eleanor Beardsley ’86 reported on the commemoration, which included an interview with Furman history professor Courtney Tollison ’99 about the African-American soldiers who served in the campaign.
