Furman University freshman Matthew Weir of Fountain Inn, South Carolina has been making films since 2011. His most recent film was chosen for the All American High School Film Festival and the organization’s Teen Indie Awards. The documentary, “Civil Air Patrol: Aviation’s Greatest Ally,” is the culmination of a project he undertook as a senior at Christ Church Episcopal School. It will be screened Oct. 6 at a theater in New York’s Times Square. Sara Pearce of Greenville Journal has the story about Weir’s film, which looks at the all-volunteer auxiliary branch of the United States Air Force. The story and the film can be found on the link.
