The power of three

Their conversation began in the halls of Furman University almost 20 years ago. Now, Joe Waters ’05 (history), Brandon Hinman ’03 (philosophy) and Grady Powell ’03 (economics) have intertwined their professional lives to work for the common good by launching non-profit think tank Capita. TOWN Magazine’s Steven Tingle talks to the trio whose company exists, in Waters’ words, “…to catalyze ideas and strategies, to help organizations, people, and policy makers ensure that all children flourish.” Waters, CEO of Capita, says, “What’s exciting is getting people to think differently about the future of childhood and not just of the problems children face today.”
