Education innovation leader Ambrose named president, CEO of KnowledgeWorks

1983 Furman University sociology alumnus Charles (Chuck) Ambrose has been appointed president and CEO of KnowledgeWorks, a nonprofit education advocacy organization in Cincinnati, Ohio. Ambrose, who joins the organization Sept. 1, previously served eight years as president of the University of Central Missouri. A WAFB 9 news item reports that he also helped build a new educational model in cooperation with a Missouri school district, a community college and Fortune 500 corporations to create the Missouri Innovation Campus. Prior to joining UCM, Ambrose served 12 years as president of Pfeiffer University (Misenheimer, North Carolina) where he took the helm at age 36, making him the youngest president in school history.
