Tomiko Brown-Nagin named dean of Harvard’s Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study
Tomiko Brown-Nagin, a 1992 Furman graduate and a leading historian on law and society, has been named dean of Harvard’s Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study.
She will assume her new position on July 1.
Brown-Nagin teaches constitutional law at Harvard Law School (HLS) and is a history professor in Harvard’s Faculty of Arts and Sciences. She is also faculty director of the Charles Hamilton Houston Institute for Race and Justice, and co-director of the HLS Law and History Program.
Brown-Nagin, who graduated from Furman in 1992 with a degree in history, holds a doctorate in history from Duke University and a law degree from Yale Law School.
