Florence, South Carolina-based church software firm ACS Technologies has honored President Emeritus and Class of 1977 Furman alumnus Marvin Owen (computer science and mathematics) for his 34 years of continuing contributions to the company. The company created the Marvin Owen ’77 Endowment Fund with a $100,000 gift to the university, according to an article published in SC Now Morning News. The scholarship offers yearly financial assistance to students who are pursuing careers in nonprofit or church ministry careers. Said Chairman of the Board Paige Tuttle, “Marvin has played an instrumental part in the ACS Technologies’ story. It’s a privilege to honor him this way and for years to come through the lives of future students who have the integrity and dedication to ministry like Marvin.”
