“When I first got here, there wasn’t even a lacrosse ball at Furman,” said Furman head coach Richie Meade in an article appearing in US Lacrosse Magazine. The magazine recounts the Paladins’ history since its 2014 inaugural season, and reports highlights of the Feb. 10 Division I match-up against the North Carolina Tar Heels. Down 12-6 with just over five minutes left to play, the Paladins rallied to pull off what would have been their “biggest-ever signature victory.” They fell to the Heels 15-14 in overtime. But, said former longtime Navy coach Meade, “I think we’re on solid ground now.”
